Lord, my God, Thou art not an alien to those who do not alienate themselves from Thee. How dost Thou fail them that love Thee? How dost Thou leave them that cry to Thee? How dost Thou hide Thyself from those that seek Thee? Behold, I am wounded for love; and in Thy absence my soul is consumed. O my God, my Love, if Thou art indeed my Love and my Desire, why dost Thou hide Thyself? Why dost Thou not give Thyself to me? Why dost Thou leave me to pine in absence? O my Lord and my God, how long shall I wait for Thee?
