First Apparition Know for certain, my dearest and youngest son, that I am the perfect and perpetual Virgin Mary, Mother of the True God through Whom everything lives, the Lord of all things near us, the Lord of heaven and earth.
I desire that a little temple be built here for me, where I will show Him, exalt Him, and make Him manifest. I will give Him to the people in all my personal love, in my compassion, in my help, in my protection: because I am truly your merciful Mother, yours and all the people who live united in this land and of all the other people of different ancestries, those who love me, those who cry to me, those who seek me, those who have confidence in me. There I will hear their weeping, their sadness, to remedy, to cleanse and heal all their different sufferings, their sorrows and their mourning.
Go to the palace of the bishop of Mexico and say to him that I myself sent you, that I desire a little temple be built here for me.

Second Apparition (evening) Hear me, my youngest son. Know that I will not lack servants or messengers to carry out my wish. But it is very necessary that you personally go and plead, that through your mediation and help, my wish may be fulfilled. So go tomorrow to see the bishop again.

Third Apparition That is fine, my youngest son. You will return here tomorrow so that you may take to the bishop the sign he has asked for. With that he will believe you, and will no longer have any doubts.

Fourth Apparition — the roses and the image Hear me, my dearest son. Is anything among all your worries and afflictions greater than the help I can give you? Am I not here, I who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need anything more?
Do not let anything else worry you or upset you. Do not be afflicted with the illness of your uncle, for he will not die now of it. Be assured that he is already well.
Climb, my youngest son, to the top of the hill; there where you saw me and I told you to go, you will find different kinds of flowers. Cut them, gather them, put them all together, then come down here and bring them before me.
My youngest and dearest son, these different kinds of flowers are the proof, the sign that you will take to the bishop. You will tell him for me that in them he is to see my wish, and that therefore he is to carry out my wish and fulfill my will. And you, who are my messenger, in you I place my absolute trust. I strictly order you that only before the bishop are you to open your tilma and show what you are carrying.
